Yes 2010 to Present

Small Works in Acrylics, Oil Pastels, Oil Paint
Lucky for me, Milwaukee Artists Resource Network executive director Melissa Mussante invited me and a number of other Milwaukee artists to participate in the MARN Treasure Hunt fundraiser during Gallery Night and Day, April 16 & 17, 2010. To entice our participation, she gave us acrylics and 25 gesso boards (mine were 5x8) to auction. I agreed, not only to support MARN, but because, now that I again can paint with brushes, albeit without fine motor skills, I felt confident that I could produce worthy works.

I say lucky because I discovered that painting these small works save my bone-on-bone shoulders that lately have curtailed my production of larger works. I miss the challenges of painting on 48x36 canvases, but love discovering my subjects so much faster, the challenge of evolution beginning ever so much faster. (Which is not to say that I don't still work on 48x36 canvases -- just not as much as I used to.)

Several of these small works began during my week at DataDog Marketing in the ArtMail Milwaukee Cubicle Chronicles artist residency program June 2010. The video interview with Dogger Colleen McIntyre is at www.youtube.com/watch?v=_2cqbUZcQdo
